Trust in the Lord and rely on His Spirit that dwells inside you. God is standing by waiting to be a friend to you, ready to be your counselor, and with open arms to be your comforter. He is your helper, your intercessor, and your advocate, and it pleases Him to do these things for you!

Know who you are!

God equips each of us in such a way that is unique to our strengths and abilities. Seek God on understanding who you are and who you are not. Your training and gifts and talents may be completely different than someone elses. It shows great maturity in realizing you cannot be effective trying to use someone else's gifts and talents. You can only be effective in using your own!

What are the gifts and talents God has given to you? Have you ever tried to accomplish a task with tools you were not trained to use? God allows each of us to develop skills that are unique to our life. He will not call you to use someone else's tools.

However, this is only half of the equation. These talents must be combined with faith. Talent alone is not enough. Faith alone is not enough. It is only when the two are combined that God's power is released and manifested in the physical realm.

Sometimes we admire the talents of others and seek to emulate them. The temptation arises to be someone we are not. This is a mistake. Let God live His life through the unique you.
Then, combine your unique gifts with faith today; you will be surprised at the power of God that will be manifested.

Josh 1:9 reminds us............ "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Be encouraged today, this is certainly good news!!

This Season Won't Last...

To my dear friends and sisters & brothers in Christ –
I know this is a tough time for some. I’m getting the calls, texts and emails from you telling me that a lot of us are struggling with one thing or another, but let me encourage you - this season won't last. God will see us all through!

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven… (Ecclesiastes 3).

I believe that we are each being tested in our current circumstances. It’s difficult to walk through it, but trust that God has given you the grace to walk through this season of difficulties. He has a plan and He will use all that you are going through for good. I know it’s difficult to hear right now because we can only see what’s in front of us, but trust Him, and don’t try to walk through this time alone. We can lean on each other and build each other up while the Lord works out our circumstances.

[God] comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God (2 Corinthians 1:4).

Psalm 62:5-8

Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.

He says , "Do Not Be Anxious"!

I’m feeling a little anxiety creeping up this morning and I’m not quite ready to start my day, so I'm sitting here listening to the birds outside my window and considering the scripture that says do not be anxious about your life!…These birds gather outside my window every morning and I notice how there seems to be more and more of them added to the flock and then it hit me that they don’t seem to be suffering and dieing off or have a care in the world because God is providing and taking care of all of them.

If like me you've awakened some mornings with anxiety brewing the moment your eyes pop open because your mind begins to focus and become conscious of the reality of what awaits you, I hope to encourage you with the Lord's word written specifically to us and for us who may struggle from time to time with worry and anxiety. I'm so glad that He foreknew our struggles and is prepared to speak to our troubled hearts. He says…
Do Not Be Anxious
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? [1] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

It can be difficult to not allow “the cares of this world” to enter in and suffocate us? How do we not experience anxiety but rather peace? Trusting in God’s sovereignty is the answer - it can relieve the anxiety and restore your peace. He says, “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:26-27). God watches over the birds and has placed instincts within them for survival and they are well taken care of.

God watches over us too and He has placed His Spirit within us to help us and empower us to live as He wants us to live, but we must remember to rely on and tap into the Holy Spirit's power daily and not just rely on ourselves to try to survive and overcome our struggles. Jesus said that if you have the right relationship with Him and will obey His Spirit within you, then God will take care of your needs. Let’s work on trusting in God’s sovereignty. I pray that in doing this, the Holy Spirit will quiet our souls, comfort our hearts and restore our peace.

I hope you have been encouraged today!

My hope & mission

My hope is that this blog will be a blessing to you and be a source of encouragement as you strive to live out your dreams in Christ! I hope to inspire change and hope in the lives of those making the journey through the revealed Working of God in my own life. I hope that somehow God will use my openness and transparency to empower others and offer a sense of connectedness and support. May His Word be forever planted in your heart and strengthen you always...

"For he will be like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:8
